I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Doncaster.

My Message: Hello all,

I'm Phil, 32, and a regular walker. I'm looking for any and all comers who are keen to get out into the mountains, preferably Scotland, but equally happy with the Lakes/Snowdonia. I am enthusiastic and pleasant company and I'm looking for like minded people to hike with and share the experience, and the driving! I am reasonably fit and experienced, having done all three national peaks and the Yorkshire dales 3 peaks challenge, and so can encourage those who are less fit and experienced with their ambitions to improve. I am also keen on photography and may want to keep stopping to indulge. I am also more than happy for dogs to come along as they always seem to add fun to a walk.

I hope to hear from all interested guys and gals.
Thanks

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Hexham.

My Message: Hello. Newly-single female keen to cram in more walking round the demands of job, house and teenagers!
I enjoy walking the trails (completed Hadrian's Wall path, Cumbrian Way, West Highland Way, and Coast and Castles routes to date) and I'm a fairly experienced hillwalker, currently ticking off the Wainwrights with friends when our diaries happen to coincide.
But I would love to get away more often for days out and, later, for weekends when life settles down. Although I'm probably restricted to places an hour or two's drive from Hexham in the short-term, if you fancy joining me - male or female - please get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my late 30s, based near Croydon.

My Message: Hi I like to walk and since becoming single a few years ago have nobody to walk with as none of my friends are interested. I live in Croydon in Surrey but drive so happy for either local walks or further away. I don't like big groups so would be nice to find somebody to walk with especially as the weather improves. Also like the Peaks, Yorkshire Dales and Snowdonia for weekends away.

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near York.

My Message: Hi All,

47 year old fairly fit free agent here, wearing walking boots and wondering which way to turn…

I’m open to possibilities and am interested in building up a circle of ‘walking’ friends any where within reason in the UK. Does anybody know of a sociable walking group for professional people –in their 30’s, 40’s 50’s …if you do please let me know?

Love being out in the countryside at the weekends to escape a busy and often hectic working week.

Looking for interesting company, some fun, a few drinks and maybe a spark along the way. Oh and a good map reader with an attractive smile and hairy arms wouldn’t go a miss!

Look forward to hearing from anybody out there…

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Hungerford.

My Message: Hi - My name is Kate (40yrs) and I live in the Newbury/Hungerford area. I would love to hear from anyone (male/female) who is keen to take me under their wing and help me rediscover the joys of walking and the beautiful scenery and wildlife of the UK. You would preferably be au fait with a compass/map and confident to take the lead! I am reasonably fit, although there is room for improvement, as I have not walked for a while!! I am happy to travel in order to explore new routes. I am also partial to rounding off a walk with a visit to a good, old, traditional English pub or the like.

I also love horse riding and cylcling although have friends who are happy to join me in these activities. Whereas, walking appears to be rather a different matter for some reason, hence my message. Much more fun to walk in good company than alone!

I am a Walker, in my late 20s, based near Wolverhampton.

My Message: I've recently swapped my stilettos for hiking boots as I'm climbing Mount Kilimanjaro later this year and have ventured in to the world of the great outdoors. It would be lovely to meet some like/open minded people to join me on my walks who enjoy having a laugh and great conversation. I'm based in the Midlands and don't mind travelling and am open to discovering new places not listed on my places of interest.

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Stamford.

My Message: Hi, I have always enjoyed walking in my home town, local woods and beauty spots but am now looking to walk for fitness and to discover new places, starting slowly and building up to longer adventures. I am easy-going with a good sense of humour and enjoying chatting about most subjects. I can only walk at weekends due to work and would ideally like to start in my local area before moving on to places like the Lake District or Scotland, so if you are a newbie like me or are willing to start slowly then I would be happy to hear from you. I love history so it would be good to combine some local history with a walk too.

I am a Walker, in my late 30s, based near Bradford.

My Message: Female, 37, based in Bradford. I do have a genuine love of the Yorkshire Dales (especially Garsdale and Swaledale). Can cover anything upto 12-13 mile walks. I do have a walking friend but she prefers shorter walks!!! I'm not into walking groups but wouldn't mind someone else to share the outdoor life with. Would look to cover a few more Lakeland routes with a keen walker.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near London.

My Message: Hi. I live in London, but have started walking for the first time outside the South East. I am just beginning to see how beautiful my own country really is. I would like to do a long distance trail such as the Dales Way or the Cumbrian Way, staying in BandBs or youth hostels. I'm generally in good shape, but for me walking is to be enjoyed and views to be savoured, so I don't go in for forced marches or sprints! I would love to have a walking companion to share the views, lunch stops and tea breaks with. I'm OK with a guidebook and map, so if you're experienced with compass etc, so much the better!

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near South Gloucestershire.

My Message: Hi, my name is Sue, I am a young 53 year old, married and live in South Gloucestershire a beautiful part of the country. My other half will walk but only short distances, so I am looking for female/male walkers of a similar age to walk either weekends or school holidays (I work in a school)! I am prepared to travel within a reasonable distance depending on the walk. I particularly enjoy walking near the coast or river and am quite happy to walk anything up to 6/7 miles with hopefully a pub meal or cream tea at the end. My aim this year is to get fit, so if you would like to meet up and help me achieve this then please get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Leeds.

My Message: Hi my name is Ollie, i'm a 60yr old retired lady, fit and active. I am in a walking club and also a running club but would love to meet both male and female fellow walkers who are able to walk during the week as well as weekends. I am particularly interested in meeting people who would like to walk Long Distance Paths. I did the Furness Way last year stopping at hostels and B and B's and really enjoyed it and would love to do more. Although I am reasonable with a map, I haven't the navigational skills or confidence to do mountain walking alone even though i am fit enough to the big Scottish Peaks with the right people ( did some in Glencoe last May). Looking forward to hearing from like minded people

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near North Bedfordshire.

My Message: Hi, I'm a single, 57 year old, female, who has just moved from the Derbyshire Peak District to rural Bedfordshire! So I'm missing the hills. I'm looking for a male friend for walking, talking, laughing and that pint/meal at the end of the day. I love walking in wild, empty places and don't mind roughing it occasionally to get to that special place. I completed the Coast to Coast in May and would like to do other trails........preferably using B&Bs! I've walked a lot in Europe, Canada, Patagonia and New Zealand and would love to discover new places. And I've recently discovered the delights of Assynt and Norway. I work full-time, so weekends tend to be reserved for walks. I'm not particularly fast - I like to take in everything around me rather than going on a route march! I'd love to hear from you if you have similar interests.

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Skipton.

My Message: Hi, I’m Andrew from North Yorkshire and I really enjoy walking around the dales but it’s much better to share it with someone.
I’m looking for a female friend to go walking with. Someone to chat, to share the views and find a good pub or cafe at the end of the days walk (preferably with roaring open fire on cold days).
Now unattached and keen to make new friends, get out walking at weekends and evenings too once the spring/summer gets going.
I enjoy any sort of walks from a stroll around a reservoir to something more adventurous heading up the hills. Lots of beautiful dales walks in area but would like to try the lakes as well and always enjoy the coast. Transport is no problem, I often work around the Peak District which is another favourite area.
Not done any long walks recently but am generally fit and active and always up for a challenge.
I’m easy going and not too bad with maps. I want to get out more and explore the countryside with friendly company so if any of this sounds like the same things you enjoy please get in touch. Thanks :)

I am a Walker, in my late 30s, based near Bury.

My Message: Hi, I love walking but want to get into it more. I work shifts, so have weekdays free when my boy is at school, between 10 and 2, allowing for travel and the odd weekend and some evenings. No regular pattern tho! Due to the time limits I have limited my walk types and locations. But when I can, I am willing to go anywhere! I also love fairweather camping and me and my son love to, so any single camping/walking friends are welcome to contact me. My son is age 9.
I like walking with a fella as it tends to challenge more to keep up!!! I need those leg muscles strengthening.

I am single but genuinely looking to have male company, not necessaily gain a relationship! Lucy
