I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Doncaster.

My Message: Hi looking to meet new friends male/female/group for more challenging walks adventures;Cairngorns, Snowdonia, lake Dist etc. I'm 55 and live in South Yorkshire, I still consider myself fairly fit and will participate in most sports, I usually run 2/3 times a week as well as walking. Unfortunately most of my previous walking partners have either arthritic knees or have taken up golf. My wife is happy to do the low level fell walking but is not prepared to tackle anything more challenging, or if the weather is bad. I like camping as well as walking (I have some good equipment ) so combining the two would be ideal, athough BandB would be ok as well. I enjoy good company and conversation. Look forward to hearing from either individuals or groups. I will reply to all who respond.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Manchester.

My Message: Hi. I'm looking for a walking companion, male or female as I either walk on my own or in a group. I like to stop, take breath, 'admire the view' and feel the breeze in my face with shared quiet enjoyment as well as having a natter and laugh along the way with a picnic or pub/cuppa at the end. I did a long multiday hike a couple of years ago but fitness has dropped and would like to build it up again. Saturdays/Sundays or the ocassional midweeker would suit me and I don't mind travelling.

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Lancaster.

My Message: Hi, I am a keen walker happy to do most low level and more strenuous walks. I have a 15 month old labrador who has got me walking and exploring areas that I haven't previously visited. The pup is now old enough to do longer walks and I am hoping to expand on the areas that I walk. I have recently bought the OS explorer maps for all the surrounding areas of Lancaster and would be happy to have company on my walks or join other people or groups on their walks.

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Preston.

My Message: Hi, I'm Jo recently single and looking for someone/a group of like minded walkers male or female. I have 2 dogs so prefer those who are doggie types! Just love getting out into the countryside, fresh air and open spaces. Walk every day with my dogs, short walks in the evenings and longer at the weekends. Have done a few climbs but if I'm honest I love ambling around flats, particularly near water (my dogs love it!) Let me know if you're interested in joining me.

Box No: 91222

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Eccles.

My Message: I currently organise walks for a small group of friends based in Manchester on a Sunday. We're a mixed gender group ranging in age from 40 to 50 (unless my nephew joins us and he brings the average age right down!). We generally tackle fairly easy rambles, usually involving a pub at some point. We enjoy the exercise but also love the conversations, which can range from politics to the X-Factor, depending on how high-brow we're feeling!
We're mostly single but we're not against married people joining us, as long as they don't hold hands the whole time (and yes, there are some people who manage that on a walk!). We're trying to build up our stamina over the winter so that we can tackle some longer, more challenging walks in the summer. We're never going to walk the Three Peaks in 24 hours (so we're probably not the group for the super fit among you) but doing a single hill/mountain in a day would be sufficiently enjoyable for us and I'm sure for many similar walkers.
We all enjoy the outdoors and go walking for the scenery, the companionship and the charming pubs (although there seems to be far fewer of them around).
We've a few walks planned over Christmas - nothing strenuous, fairly flat walks around Cheshire of about 9 miles if anyone's interested. Then we'll settle into a routine of a Sunday walk probably twice a month.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Leigh.

Prefor 7-10 mile walks and generally prefer hills though decidely a 'plodder' up hills now. Rambles OK as well, and shorter walks if local friend.
Any age/gender welcome if compatible walker.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Doncaster.

My Message: Hi everyone. After reading all the other Go 4 A Walk members it would seem most are prepared to walk any where in the UK. I must say I might seem fairly boring but the Yorkshire coast line, the hills and valleys of the white and dark peaks of Derbyshire and the Yorkshire Dales and wolds provide enough inspiration and views to relax the most stressfull parts of our lives. I am happy to walk 6 miles with a chat or 24 miles with aching knees. Kinder Scout under 6 feet of snow is brill. send me a message and stay near home in our wonderfull countryside

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Tewkesbury.

My Message: Well, I am up for just about anything with anyone. Young/old, male/female, etc etc. It's not that I'm not fussy, but I enjoy meeting and finding about new people, although finding a regular glutten for punishment would be good. I enjoy a good laugh and a chat, but equally happy just enjoying sharing the scenery in ' companiable solitude' - not sure where that one came from!!
My usual partners circumstances have changed - baby, moved away, and the other one, well she found herself a man.
I am confident with navigation, enjoy grade 1 scrambles -although I used to climb to a good standard and fancy taking on a bit more, although I have no kit now.
I am currently looking for work so have a reasonable amount of flexibility of when and how long I go for, subject to getting a pass from 'she who must be obeyed'! But not a problem.
I am up for wild camping - but prefer bunk houses/bothys this trime of year.

Would love to have a bit of a challenge in winter conditions, if someone is happy to share their knowledge, I am prepared to invest in more winter kit.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Wakefield.

My Message: Yorkshire based single male would like to meet genuine single female for 7-14mile walks some hills, particular Peak District, Yorkshie Dales, North Yorkshire and Lake District. Not into large group walks.. tried it !. Even better to arrange weekends away in BandB not under canvas!
Equally happy to walk in the countryside or by the coast, just as happy with a flat or hilly terrain.
Also enjoy a bike ride. Then to finish off with a drink and a bite to eat.
Don't be shy drop me a line. Paul

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Burnley.

My Message: Hi my name is Ian I am a 47 year old single male who lives near Burnley and is reasonably fit with a liking for the outdoors whether that be walking, conservation work, tending my garden or various other activities. I do most of my walking in Lancashire (Ribble Valley, Pendle and Silverdale areas) The Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales. I have also completed a third of the Pembrokeshire coastal path and would like to finish it someday. I prefer to take my time and look at the view and the flora and fauna when I am out and not dash up a mountain because it is there. Having said that I have been known to go up the odd hill when I feel like it. At the end of a walk I like to find a nice tea shop for tea and cake, as I don’t drink or smoke pubs are not for me, unless food is involved then that’s a different matter as I enjoy going out for meals.
I am looking for a lady of a similar age who does not smoke and is within a reasonable distance of me that would like to join me on my walks and possibly other days out.

I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Northampton.

My Message: Hi, I'm looking for a walking partner, preferably male, age between 25-45, for weekends away in the lake district (though I can be tempted with snowdonia too.. ). I'd like to get away every couple of months, and be able to share the journey up as well as the walks. Be good to really click with someone and be able to have a laugh over a few beers afterwards in the pub, or set up a wild camp somewhere. I'm open minded, easy going, have a good sense of humour (sounds like a dating advert, but if you spend a whole day out on the hills with someone you should make sure you get on !). What else... I drag my camera about and take photos I'm never happy with.... and I prefer to get off the beaten track where possible (didn't want to join the Ramblers, as I walk to get away from people, but would love to share the experience with someone like minded). contact me and see what happens... looking to go away early/mid Oct if there's anyone out there....

My Message: Hi, I live in East Lancashire and I'm looking for new female friends to go walking with. Having spent the last few years walking with my boyfriend and always being left at least 100 yards behind, I'd now like to do some walks where I get to chat to people, take in the countryside and stop at cafes, pubs etc.
It would be good to get together a small group of like minded walkers, for walks in the North West ie. Lakes, Dales or Peak District. I usually do 8-10 miles at weekend as I work during the week. If anyone is interested please get in touch.

My Message: Hi.. I'm Shona and I'm lucky enough to live close to the Northern Lake District. Looking for like minded people to walk with in the Lakes and would like try some Scottish hills and the Isles too if anyone can guide me!
Like to keep a reasonable pace but no route marching please! Enjoy a cuppa and a chance to savour the view. Have done some of the main fells in the Lakes and getting to know the area slowly. Have done a wee bit of map reading... could do with more practice. Building fitness level again after a back problem which is now resolved... at the moment can manage up to grade 7.
