I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Crewe, Cheshire.

My Message: Hi,
I used to be a keen walker but seemed to have fallen off the beaten track for a while. With a bit more spare time (weekends) it would be good to get back into it again. I'm happy on any type of walk, whether it be the local Peckforton Hills, the Peak district, Wales or the Lakes and I'm ok with a map and compass. If you would like a bit of company while out on a walk, it would be good to hear from you.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Northallerton.

My Message: I love walking in the Cumbrian Mountains, the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors but, unfortunately, have nowhere near enough opportunities to get away and do so during term time. You may now have figured out that I am a teacher! I run the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award scheme for my school and I am a qualified ML(S). I am happy to walk solo but it's much more fun to walk with a companion. Most of my colleagues run a mile when I suggest a walk or a night's wild camping. So if any one is out there who might like to get together for a day out on fells or Dales; maybe even two, please get in touch. Tom

I am a Walker, in my late 30s, based near Nantwich.

My Message: Hi, I've lived round here for a few years now but am yet to find some like minded walking buddies who are not tied up with small children and the likes. I would really love to get out there into the great outdoors on some proper walks. I do lots of little dog walking ones locally but I'd really love to get over to North Wales for example or the Lakes or anywhere I can really escape from Nantwich. It seems such a waste to have all that on my doorstep and not make use of it!! So I'm hoping to find some like-minded people or a walking group I can go with so please do get in touch if your interested and not too far away.

Jess

I am a Walker, in my early 70s, based near London.

My Message: I live in North London. I enjoy day walks in the Home Counties with a walking club I've belonged to for some years. I am interested in going further afield with another walker (m or f) for more than day hikes, perhaps revisiting some of the English national trails I walked in past decades. I don't rule out Wales or Scotland where I also know some areas. I like classical music, pub conversation, reading, crossword solving, planning and leading walks. For much of my life I have been involved in local politics but ready to give these a miss in my retirement. I am divorced with one grown-up daughter who lives with me.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near South Lakes, Cumbria.

My Message: Hi, I am a straight single female looking for walking companions/buddies Female and Male, in their 30's/40's /50's -hopefully forming good friendships, and walking buddies, to have a good laugh and chat along the way. I act and look much younger than my years. I don't take life too seriously and have a very good sense of humour. I love nature/wildlife, photography, and to end the walk at a tearoom or pub.
My preferred area is the Lake District (as I live in the Lakes), and Yorkshire Dales, but I 'am open to walking other areas such as Snowdonia, Scotland, etc.
I am a fit and active person, always up for adventure, who enjoys walking the high Lake District Fells, including some scrambling, but I also enjoy walking the valleys or along the lakeshores.
I have recently taken up to indoor climbing too.
I love Scotland and have been to the Trossachs and the Isle of Skye and trekked some of the Cuillins and the Quiraing which gave me a taste to trek more Munro's.
I have completed all 214 Wainwrights and The Pennine Way.
I like to take in the scenery and photographs along my walks, not frogmarch straight to the top! I don't mind any length of walk, but on average a good walk of 8-15 miles or even more is fab!
I hope to hear from you.
Ps- Border Collies are my favourite breed of dog!

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Southampton.

My Message: What a great site to find, not as much as any hill or mountain top though. I'm a frequent walker, occasionally getting myself out of my comfort zone and pushing myself that bit more. I guess you'd say I'm developing my navigation skills, occasionally using technology to help out. That said, I am comfortable using a map and compass and yet to get myself in any bother on the hills.
It would be nice to find someone willing to venture out onto the hills/mountains of our fantastic country. There's still so much to discover.
I have transport and able to camp rough, well in a campervan if that counts!

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Harlow.

My Message: Hi there, I'm looking to meet new people interested in walking (funnily enough!), companionship and chatting - I'm a good listener ;). The last 3 years I have been winter hiking and climbing in the mountains around Glencoe learning navigation and avalanche skills, and the conditions were at times quite fierce! However, I now have a taste for some hiking outside of bleak winter conditions. With this in mind, whilst I do enjoy a tough challenging hike in the mountains, I do also appreciate the beauty of nature and can enjoy a much more gentle day in the hills with good company and an associated pub lunch! It would be great to meet someone who's been walking for a while since they would know all the good walks! I'm not a peak bagger (not sure if that's the correct expression!) but am not averse to trying any peaks that come across my path. I'm generally pretty fit because in addition to hiking I like to run, cycle, and swim, leading an active and outdoor-orientated lifestyle. I have my own transport and am happy to travel some distance to find a decent walk in the hills or mountains (I live in Essex so there aren't that many around!). I am free mainly at weekends but can do weekdays if I have enough notice and there is enough to entice me along as I would need to book time off work. Please drop me line if interested or you'd like more info. Look forward to hearing from you... Andy.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Shrewsbury.

My Message: Whether a gentle stroll or a challenging trekking holiday, I'm always keen to pull on my walking boots and head off to places best seen on foot. I discovered the joys of walking whilst training for the London Moonwalk in 2007, and since then I've covered many miles in the UK, including Hadrian's Wall and climbing Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell (although not all in one day) I've also spent a week walking in the beautiful french Pyrenees and completed two trekking holidays - in Kerala and to Everest Base Camp, both incredible experiences, and I'd love to do more e. g. Machu Picchu.
My other passion is skiing, and I've recently returned to the UK having taken a short career break to work in the french Alps last winter (the oldest chalet maid in town!) Now back behind a desk full time - suffering 'cabin fever' - I'm keen to get out walking as much as possible at weekends, please get in touch if you'd like to join me.

My Message: Hello,
I am a 52 year old male looking for walking company (Female/Male) in and around the North Yorkshire Moors/Yorkshire Dales area. I am quite willing to travel upto 2 hours for a great walk, but am only available to walk at weekends. Am fairly good at reading a map. If like me, you love the great outdoors and are looking for good company at the same time, get in touch. PS: Not to forget you can't complete a good walk without ending with a drink at a pub/cafe.

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Halifax.

My Message: Hi.

I'm Dave and a relative novice. I walk for an hour or more each weekday and try to do more on Sundays - 4 hours in Bronte country a decent effort recently. I did also get to the top of The Old Man of Coniston last year. It hurt!

I'm seeking, ideally, female company age 40-50 who can encourage me, inspire me and support me in taking on ever increasing challenges. In return, I expect to do the same for you!

I am a Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Lancaster.

My Message: Hi. I really enjoy getting out walking and exploring new places, and I'm looking for a female friend aged between 25 and 35 to join me for anything from short local walks to adventures a bit further afield. I'm next door to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales so I've got some brilliant walks and places to explore pretty much on my doorstep. Also I'm up for travelling a bit further as well. I'm not an uber-serious hiker or anything, so massive day long hikes or serious climbing aren't really my thing, but I'm definitely up for a challenge! I'm normally free week day evenings for local jaunts, and weekends too. Feel free to drop me a line. Thanks. Ben.

I am a Walker, in my late 60s, based near Malvern.

My Message: As I've been on this great site for 3 years I thought an update was in order. I now spend December, January and February in Ribeira Brava, Madeira and the remaining 9 months here in Malvern; both splendid walking centres. Nevertheless, while in England I like to get away and over the last few years have walked the SWCP from Exmouth to Poole in dribs and drabs. Thinking of a new project this year, I saw on this site that Wales is split into fourteen mountainous regions. How about climbing the highest in each region? In a relaxed way, you understand, going away for a few days at a time. Investigation showed that I'd done many of them before so I decided on the third highest of each instead. Anyone fancy joining me? Oh, I'm planning to walk the Fisherman's Trail, along the Atlantic Coast in Portugal, probably in October, as well.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Middlewich.

My Message: Hi there!, I am a brand new member…... I am interested in starting to go walking but looking for companionship and someone to help me with map reading etc. I am of ok fitness, member of a gym etc and looking to make the most of my weekends and possibly weekdays walking. I would love to do Cheshire walks but also The Lakes, Yorkshire Dales and The Peak District. I have just turned 50 a few weeks ago and still coming to terms with that … haha (i'm very young at heart and people say I don't look or act my age… not sure if thats a good thing or bad?!) I have a great sense of humour and love to banter.
Would be great to hear back from you.

I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Shrewsbury.

My Message: I am looking for a walking companion around the same age, male or female, to accompany me and my 2 border collies on a walk every now and then. My family and friends used to join me on walks, but they are all so busy it's hard to arrange a time when we are all free.
I don't enjoy really long walks, I prefer shorter walks with beautiful scenery or wildlife to look at on the way (or a nice pub at the end!)
I like discovering new and interesting walks. That's not to say I never visit the same place twice, but where possible I will find an alternative route around, to make the same walk slightly different.
I run a dog training centre near Shrewsbury which keeps me busy most days, especially at weekends. However I don't work full-time hours and usually have time off during the week. This is when I am more likely to be free for walks.
I sometimes go away for training seminars, so could potentially walk in other areas of the country if it fits in with one of my trips.
In a walking companion I am looking for an honest (but not boring), kind, optimistic person who enjoys life (in moderation), can hold their own in a conversation and can have a laugh.
If this is too much to ask then a mixture of the above would also be good!
Thanks for reading

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Camberley.

My Message: Hi, I am new to this website in March 2016. I am writing this message from Tromso in arctic Norway! Here with my wife, but she doesn't walk, so feeling sad that I don't have walking partners here. We have been visiting my daughter who runs a dog sledding company in arctic Sweden, where I have been saying I would like to walk on the Kungsledden ( Kings Way) one summer. So lots of potential trips to Norway/ Sweden/Finland. I have been an experienced hill walker and expeditioner e. g. Alps, Pyrenees, High Atlas plus all the UK wild areas. Now I am returning to my walking roots and would like to join with someone who loves good walking adventures!
Anything considered. I mean anything!! I am slowly getting walking fit and would welcome turning strangers into walking friends. Very happy with shorter routes especially if lots of height gained.
I have a Mountain Leadership Certificate from the 1970's, so a little rusty and worn!
My main interests are: East Africa, where I am a trustee of African Revival, an education and community NGO; school governing; and coaching and mentoring. What are yours?
Love to hear from you.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Rochdale.

My Message: Quiet but friendly walker, living in Lancashire. My walking friends are now partnered and preoccupied with raising families – hence this ad. I love wildflowers in spring, the open fells in summer, maple trees in autumn, starry skies and wood smoke in winter. Available mainly at weekends, including Fridays, for walking in Yorkshire, Lakes or N. Wales. I do volunteer wardening for the YHA now and then, I’m a long standing bothy gangrel around the Highlands and I jointly own a simple house in the mountains of Southern Spain. I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Loughborough.

My Message: I'm looking for friends who enjoys walking and the great outdoors to join me on my adventures.

I walk between 6 and 10 miles most weekends, with shorter walks during the week.

I live in the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, which has some beautiful countryside. I also enjoy walking in Wales and the Peak District, the Lakes District, Cornwall and Scotland. I also enjoy camping, bodyboarding, kayaking and other outdoor activities. I work full time during the week, but I'm willing to travel reasonable distance for weekend walks (North Wales, Peak District, etc), and further for weekends away/holidays/etc. I like to travel, so walking holidays abroad are also a possibility.

I am a Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Cumbria.

My Message: Hi, I'm Rob, 36 and looking to meet a likeminded female or just make new friends. I live in West Cumbria, so I'm lucky to have the Cumbrian fells and coastline on my doorstep.

I am trying to get back to what I love most, the great outdoors, after going through separation. In the past I have done several long distance walks, but really just enjoy all aspects of walking long or short.

I am keen to find someone to share the adventures that come with walking, as a shared adventure is always more fun. Obviously the Lake District is my usual area for walking, but I am willing to travel having also explored Northumberland, Snowdonia, North Yorkshire and the Scottish Highlands in the past.

More than anything it's about sharing these experiences with someone who had the same appreciation for the outdoors, to go for a walk, chat, have a laugh and hopefully click with. If they are interested in food and drink after a walk, then even better.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Huddersfield.

My Message: .
Hello, I live in Huddersfield near the lovely walking areas of Marsden Moor and Holmfirth. I enjoy gentle strolls in scenic countryside (and also coastal paths whenever possible) and prefer to combine walks with points of interest such as reservoirs, canals, historic buildings and country pubs. I am single and hoping to meet a man of similar age who also enjoys shortish walks for companionship. As I am currently still working full time my walks have to take place on weekends and holidays. I dont have an up to date photo but I am average height, slim build and have silvery hair and brown eyes. Thanks for reading this!

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Holmfirth.

My Message: Hi my name is Alison and I live in a beautiful part of West Yorkshire.

I love walking and am a member of a few walking groups but miss the individuality of a walking partner to share the 'oos and ahhhhs' when you see something special. Tranquility of a special place, view, peace and sunset too.

I also enjoy visiting historical places of interest, theatre, ballet to name but a few. I have a lot of friends but many are busy with family at weekends and now with my two daughters at uni have more time to spare.

If you are interested on joining me on a walk, or if I could join you on a walk you are planning, I would love to hear from you.
