I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Newcastle Upon Tyne.
My Message: Hi All,
I'm Ross; I've been walking for some time now, and am posting this message for two reasons:
I'm interested in meeting a few new people (male or female, any ages - female prefered (;-)) but all welcome) in and around the North for more local walks (usually ending in a good pub!) and possibly further afield.
I'd also like to do the Three Peaks Challenge (or possibly the Yorkshire Three Peaks as a beginner option) this year but, one by one first - as it's quite a step up for me - and I don't just mean the 4411ft of Ben Nevis!
I want to do this as I'm now in my 30's, I want to push myself more and feel like I've achieved more with my life, so I'd like to meet a few people who feel the same - or equally people who just like those walks and would like to do them again, again all welcome.
Thanks for reading and Happy Walking!

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Selby.
My Message: Hello fellow walkers....... I'm looking for male or female company on walks, I joined a local ramblers club but felt the large numbers and ''clicks'' detracted rom the joy of the walk.... I'll be honest and say i'm not very good at map reading, but then i've never tried - happy to learn and be guided.... I have a horse and one dog, so although I spend all week in a suit I like to get my wellies and walking boots on at the week-end - As happy in the Hilton as I am in a tent, as happy with coffee from a flask as I am with a Gin and Tonic.... I enjoy star filled sky's and the beauty of each season, I love sunsets and sunrises (walking holiday in Gozo - fantastic!) I like log fires and cosy pubs, I'll walk in the rain, sun or wind..... Not very good with heights or cliff edges! I'm 5ft 10 and look good in a bobble hat at 40! I look forward to hearing from you.....

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Kendal.
My Message: Female, 64, Kendal area
Hello I am fit and active and am looking for a male companion to share my passion of walking in areas around the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales and beyond. Although distance is not so important, I enjoy walking at all levels but particularly the ridges and summits of the Lakeland Fells. I do walk with a group occasionally but would prefer to have the company of a like-minded soul to share the experience of a good day out in the hills and to have the time to stop and admire the landscape, flora and wildlife. A visit to a teashop at the end of the day is always a plus. Do get in touch if at all interested, I would love to hear from you.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Otley.
My Message: Hi, at the moment I am primarily interested in walking in the Yorkshire Dales + Peak District. I am trying to build up my fitness so prefer to spend as much time as possible walking and not in the car. I will be traveling further field in the future. I'm keen to hear from anyone who genuinely enjoys relaxed walks in pleasant landscapes. I'm a very flexible person, willing to adjust plans to fit in with other walkers, the weather etc (I'm not obsessive about ticking off routes)
Due to work I spend part of my time in Nottingham and the rest in Yorkshire and I am sometimes available for walking during the week. Mal

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Richmond N.yorks.
My Message: Hi everyone,
I'm new to this group so i'm hoping for some positive responses! I live in the Dales and haven't seen as much of them as i should have done due to not having a walking buddy... or two. I enjoy walking and cycling but find it a bit of a bore going on my own as it's nice to chat and share experiences... and sometimes stop off for some pub grub and a drink!
I enjoy anything from a Sunday stroll to a good brisk walk. I would love to explore more areas and i'm willing to drive to meet up with the right person/group.
Thanks for reading my message and hope to find friendly fellow walkers soon.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Warrington.
My Message: I retired last year and adopted two rescue dogs who I walk each day. Distance varies according to the weather!!! on a good day we will do 6-9 miles.
I used to walk with the Ramblers but since they dont allow dogs I cant really join them any longer. The guilt factor is too much to handle!!
I am looking for a like minded walking companion, preferably in or near Warrington to join me walking dogs. My dogs are well behaved and adore other people. i just enjoy looking at scenery, chatting and exploring new walks. Map reading with two dogs to watch is difficult!! I also miss human conersation.
Female company preffered.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Oldham.
My Message: Hi, I've recently moved area and am looking for people to walk with. I've been out with a walking group but would prefer a smaller group or individuals, male and female. I don't want to walk alone in an area I am not familiar with yet, though I can map read. I’ve done most of my walking in recent years in the Lake District. I'm reasonably fit but haven't done much this year, owing to house move. I am prepared to go further afield but initially want to walk within c 50 mls from Manchester, Lancashire / Yorkshire moors, Northern Peak district. Anything from 5-12 mls and pubs to finish is fine. Can walk most days. New year, hopefully new friends.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Edenbridge.

My Message: I am looking to do more walking and rebuild my life after being suddenly widowed. I sometimes walk locally with a group, and will also do walks with my family; but I would like to find a male walking companion in my own age group (50-60) to open up the possibility of planning some special expeditions that I wouldn't tackle alone. I run a business from home so organise my own time.
I do a lot of thinking while walking and would appreciate the companionship of someone who shares my love of the natural world, will be happy to have a laugh and a chat and share a pint or two in the pub at the end of the journey, but is also happy with companionable silence in beautiful surroundings. Also, would like to meet a competent navigator so that I can once more walk in the wilder areas of Britain. I relied on my husband as the expert hill walker since although I'm a reasonable map reader, I have a hopeless sense of direction!
For this reason, my recent solo enterprise was to start walking the West Coast path, of which I've done a few instalments over recent years (progressed from Weston Super Mare to Bude so far). I reckoned if I kept the sea on my right, I couldn't go far wrong. I was happy to do this trek alone while my husband was alive, but now I prefer to avoid too much solitude.
12 miles in a day is about my absolute maximum if there are any hills involved. I tend to be happier walking round lakes looking up at mountains rather than half killing myself struggling to conquer them, but can be persuaded to tackle a challenge at my own pace. I don't do route marching. I'm an experienced camper, excellent at logistics and making tea, and may be accompanied by a dog.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near West Coast Of Cumbria.
My Message: I live in West Cumbria and love the landscapes of the mountains. There is nothing better than waking up knowing that this day is a mountain top day! I will soon be completing my first round of the Wainwrights.
Being out on the fell tops is one of the best feelings ever, with the swoop of the enticing next ridge ahead to enjoy and would welcome the opportunities to share it in the company of someone who enjoys too.
As well as fell walking, I welcome the chances to sit next to a peaceful tarn to absorb the utter tremendousness of this landscape that I am lucky enough to live near. Tarn sitting is a wonderful place to observe wildlife and become at peace with the world.
My border collie accompanies me on all my walks and she enjoys the company of others too, particularly if they have ham sandwiches in their rucksack!
To put it bluntly, walking is not a luxury, it is a requirement for my living.

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near St Leonards-on-sea.
My Message: Hi, I’m a keen walker, single, based on the Sussex coast. I like all sorts of walks, afternoon strolls to country pubs, or more challenging walks up mountains. Most of my walking is local to me in Sussex at the moment, except when I go on holiday. I’d like to explore further a field, but don’t have anyone to go exploring with. I enjoy the fresh air, the exercise, the conversation, the views and, if there’s a pub stop en route or at the end, the beer. I’d like to meet new friends for walks at weekends (I work Monday to Friday), but if you’re up for heading off for a weekend of walking in the more mountainous parts of the country, that would be cool too. Andrew

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Harrogate.
My Message: Hello fellow walkers, first the basics, my name is John, I`m 52 in December, got my own teeth and hair (tho not as much as I used to have), pretty fit and active. 5ft 8ins, 12. 5 st. Recently divorced so plenty of time to spare. I`m a keen walker but not too keen on doing it by myself. I went out a few times with the local Ramblers Club, but the number of people tended to distract from the experience. Would prefer to go out in a small group (1-5 would be ideal). I know the Dales pretty well and have walked extensively in the Lakes. I went to the Peak District for the first time this year and I`m interested in getting to know the area a lot more.
I like quiet country pubs, good food, good music (anything that`s rock`n`roll`s fine. Who sang that?) smiling and the quiet life. Be nice to hear from some of you out there.

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Preston.
My Message: Hi. I’m very new to this site and still exploring. I love walking, for exercise, to see the countryside / nature and for companionship. There’s nothing like sharing a fantastic view with a friend …and maybe a drink and a meal afterwards. Recently, I’ve concentrated on Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales, but I’d love to get back into the Lake District again, where I walked a lot in my younger days. I’m 48, separated and free most weekends. I also enjoy walks closer to home on weekday evenings, when there’s enough daylight. I don’t mind getting wet and wind-blown. I’m close to Preston in Lancashire and it would be great to hear from you if you fancy joining me for a stroll. Andrew.
