I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Wallasey.

My Message: From the Wirral, looking for some (preferably female) company for days out. Most Sundays are good. May also be interested in teaming up for longer walking holidays anywhere in the UK. I enjoy climbing a peak from time to time, but shorter walks are good too. I love coast, forest, mountain, places I've never seen, anywhere away from the roar of traffic and the hum of urban life.

My Message: Hi
I'm Helen. I live in Carmarthenshire. Looking for someone to enjoy leisurely walks with.
I love the coast with it's magnificent views as well as walks around reservoirs and along rivers and canals. If I see any wildlife it's always a bonus.
I may be up longer walk but as I haven't done much walking recently I have opted for the more leisurely options.
Just want to get out there and see our beautiful sights.
Thanks for reading, if it sounds like your sort of walk please get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my late 30s, based near Chulmleigh.

My Message: Hi, I'm James from North Devon. Walking has really helped me to recover my strength and stamina after a long period of illness. Dartmoor is right on my doorstep and I have been making a determined effort this year to get to know it better. Wild camping on the moor has a deeply therapeutic effect on me - underlining the importance of keeping things simple and in balance.

I usually walk alone, my friends are usually busy, and I think some company would be nice. Dartmoor is a wonderful playground that I would never tire of but I am happy to try anywhere in the UK that I can reach by train. I have a spare tent that I can lend out if you are not sure whether camping is your thing but would like to give it a go without spending lots of money. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Beverley.

My Message: Hi 52. Looking initially to do some of the national trails - ideally 3 - over the summer of this year (2014). Open to other suggestions, but the plan is Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast, then Cotswolds and finally either the Hadrian's Wall walk, or Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

A lot of history - but that is the problem - it is history! So fitness has slid away, and I am looking to put that right as gently as possible. Add in a splash of photography for my own travelogue, and basically you have it. Gentle walks over some distance (anticipating camping as a default) with frequent photo stops.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Tucson, Az Usa.

My Message: Hello Walkers (female & male)

I'm a desert-dwelling American hoping to arrange some walks for a holiday upcoming this summer. My dates are 27 June until 13 July. The only date I'm unavailable to walk is 3 July, when I have a London meeting.

Though I have some interest in Hadrian's Wall, I am open to walking in any part of the UK to which I can take public transport or hitch a ride, and where a good pint is never far off. I'm keen to find good company and lots of 'exotic' (non-arid!) scenery.

So, if you're looking for a walking buddy, or care to be a tour-guide for a visitor, please drop me a line!

Best,

Leigh

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Bradford.

My Message: Hi, basically I'm looking for mainly male walking buddies for reasonably easy to moderate walks of up to about 5 or 6 miles to start with and hopefully improve on that as time goes by.

I'm available most weekdays and weekends but I do have some time restrictions early mornings and late afternoons.

I must stipulate that I will not meet anyone who smokes and as I'm quite tall I would like to walk with someone who is 6' or over

Hope to hear from you soon

My Message: Hello everyone, I have recently moved into the Shropshire area and looking to get more active with walks and hikes. I have seen and been on a few walks but would like some company to while away the hours chatting while burning up the miles. I am quite new to it all so will probably need some time to get my fitness levels up, but I am willing to put in the hours at the weekend and some evenings depending where I am with work.

Thank you for reading hope to hear back from people.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Bradford.

My Message:
Hi, I'm Ruth and have just joined this site. I've been walking on my own for a few years now but getting fed up with my own company and would prefer to share the walks, the views and the weather (good and bad) with someone.
I'm a steady away kinda gal (that's Yorkshire speak for slow!) but happily do 20 miles a day on a weekend in the Dales or Peak District. Alternatively weekends away further afield in the Lakes, Snowdonia or Scotland are my preferred areas.
Happy with either a buttie break on the hillside or pub grub afterwards but always like to finish with a drop of liquid refreshment.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Northallerton.

My Message: Hello. I am a recently retired fit and active 64 year old single female who has every intention of walking as much of our own country as possible and for as long as I am fit and able to do so. All my friends are still working (poor things) and I would much rather walk with a friend (male or female) than on my own. I live about 40 minutes north of York and have a car so a reasonable travelling distance is not a problem and as work is no longer a consideration – any day is fine.
I love any distance of walk but am probably happiest between 8 and 12 miles with time to stop and enjoy the beauty of the countryside, am quite happy to walk whatever the weather (almost!) – and if there happens to be a teashop on the journey…. Well I admit I take some dragging past it!
Would welcome replies from any age and either sex but please don’t ask me to go camping…. Where on earth would I plug in the hairdryer???

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Los Angeles, Ca..

My Message: I'm coming to the UK in April (last two weeks probably) to do a bit of sight seeing, and I'm an avid hiking. I would really like to meet some friends to do some interesting hikes with. I'd love to do some hikes along Hadrian's Wall, any hikes with some historical connections would be a dream. I'm very fit and experienced, so there is not a hike I won't do! Thank you very much for reading my post! Cheers, Will

PS: I haven't marked any counties, as I really don't know what's what, and I'm open to suggestions!

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Whitby.

My Message: I'm a novice intending to get into more walking this year. I relish fresh air and country or coastal views, but it would be so much more encouraging, and fun, to share the experience with an interesting male walker and enjoy pleasant conversation, maybe incorporating a visit to a historical site or area of natural interest. I'm a professional artist and take inspiration from the coast and from quaint or unusual architecture. I like to take photos now and then whilst walking. I can walk weekdays or weekends, depending on my varied work schedule, and I'm a car owner. I enjoy looking at maps, and I CAN read them - but I wouldn't rely on it!

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Hexham.

My Message: Male, 50, (gay if that matters) who goes walking most months with a club, for a day in the Lakes, but other than that and a couple of days during Lakes/Dales holidays get little opportunity. My partner hates walking and my sister and brother in law can't get away often enough (just those two holidays). I have gone walking alone, which is great for thinking time, but views are better shared and having someone to talk to/keep you going is a definite improvement.
Trying to get through the Wainwrights, now on 165. I work a rota system that gives a mix of days free weekday and weekend, with 6 out of 8 weekends free.
I love steady Lakeland walks, with a couple of Wainwright summits (or more!), plus friendly banter over a few real ales in the pub after. I am looking for like minded, Wainwright bagging, company as view admiration is better shared.

I am a Walker, in my late 30s, based near Keighley.

My Message: Hiya, I'm planning to walk The Pennine way in sections. I'm walking from Edale to Hawes in April and May as day walks then Hawes to Greenhead in July and the last leg in August to fit in with work and available accommodation. If anyone wants to join me, either for a section or just one day if I'm passing by your area, please get in touch. Aside from that, I'm looking for walking friends, male or female, who want to get out and about locally and possibly further afield. I enjoy walking round The Yorkshire Moors, into The Dales, Forest of Bowland and Pendle. I'm a fairly experienced walker and a good navigator. I'm not into bagging or walking for the sake of it; I like to enjoy the walk and the experience. I enjoy anything from a 4 mile amble to about 14 miles in a day. I've done the Bronte Round (23 miles) over two days and The Bradford Millennium Way (46 miles) over 4 days. I like to finish off a good walk with a visit to a pub or café or a look around the local towns or villages. I quite often have time off in the week but also have some weekends off too. I'm a flexible, easy going person who can talk about a wide range of things. Give me a shout if you'd like to go for a walk!

I am a Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Warrington.

My Message: Hi there,

Hi i'm Jon aged 34 living in Warrington, Cheshire. I have always had an interest in walking and exploring whether it be through muddy fields, woodlands, along canal towpaths, mountain walking etc. I just love to get out there and explore the great outdoors. It's great to get into the open air away from the busy work schedule.

I can do basic map reading and generally have a good sense of direction.

I would very much like to find new friends who hopefully share these interests and would perhaps like to join me on some walks. I do drive and have my own transport.

It would be great to hear from anyone who may be interested.

Best wishes Jon
