I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Lytham.

My Message: Hi, I am looking to meet likeminded people for walking and camping trips. I have been into walking for almost 17 years and like nothing better than been out in the countryside. I enjoy low level walks as much as the challenge of a mountain. I have been walking with an old friend since I started in 1998 and he was the one who got me into this wonderful past time. We still go walking together but he isn’t into hitting 3 to 4 peaks in a day where as I enjoy the challenge that brings every now and then. He also doesn’t get away camping anymore so the days of doing a large mountain walk whilst camping are becoming more limited. I love camping as much as walking and combining them both is for me a fantastic experience. I spend most of my walking time in the Lakes and The Dales but I’m open to visiting other areas. I am 47 years old and have a pretty good fitness level and managed a 12 mile mountain walk in the Lakes a few weeks ago. I trekked to Everest basecamp in 2009 so the physical challenge to me is appealing. I am looking to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge at some point, either this year before the end of October or in Spring next year. I am also hoping to continue camping through the autumn and possibly into winter with walking as part of these trips. It would be nice to have someone to go along with. I have done some backpacking but that was many years ago where I completed the dales way with my walking friend but we did it from Bowness to Ilkley instead. I did attempt the Coast to Coast a few years ago but had to stop due to too many blisters, something I hadn’t suffered with before and haven’t since! I would also like to try doing some wild camping at some point but perhaps I would have to start with a short trek to begin with as its been a while since I carried a pack full of camping gear. I would like to attempt the coast to coast again in the not too distant future although I’m not sure I would be carrying all my equipment over such a long distance but the challenge does appeal. Anyway, I shall leave it at that for now but if you're interested in any of the above it would be great to hear from you. In the meantime, happy walking.

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Churchstoke.

My Message: Hi, my name is Steve and I'm a 49 yr old single guy.
I'm based mostly on the mid Welsh borders and so am lucky enough to have relatively easy access to the mountains of Wales and mid/northern England.
I live a pretty unconventional life in which adventure travel plays a significant part. I've recently returned from a 4000 mile cycle trip of Eastern Europe, it was a blast!
I love the notion of adventure, macro or micro, an afternoon walk, a weekend camping/bivvying or full on expeditions lasting weeks or months.
I'm in the process of planning a south American cycling adventure for next year if anyone is interested.
I love to get into the mountains and wild places of Britain as much as I can and do this in my 'live - in truck' which takes me all over.
I also like to explore the myths and legends accociated with wild places.
I've walked a lot in Britain and also trekked in the Alps, the Pyrenees and Napal. I spent a month last year on my mountain bike in Iceland which was fab, apart from falling off!
So if anyone is interested in sharing adventure experiences, big or small, drop me a line and we can share ideas.
Cheers.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Pershore, Worcestershire.

My Message: Hi, I’m a totally blind walker, and I'm looking for people to go walking with who would be prepared to act as my guide. If you have a dog, or at least like dogs then all the better, as I have a lively guide dog who would love to come along sometimes.
I can usually be free to walk locally any day of the week. It would also be good to hear from people anywhere in the country who would be interested in setting up a small group for weekends away, or possibly to walk one of the national trails, either all at once or a section at a time. 8 to 12 miles a day, depending on terrain is ideal for me, although shorter walks locally are fine too of course. Dogs would be very welcome of course, as well as a sense of humour and a rucksack full of food!
Don't worry if you haven't guided anyone who is blind before - you'll soon get the hang of it. I'm a fairly experienced walker and I don't think walking with me is too stressful. (although others may disagree)
Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help get my rusting knees walking again.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Washington.

My Message: Hi, new to the site (joined today) and really not sure what the grades are but erring on the side of the higher few are the ones I'd probably not be able to do, yet! I'm from Washington in Tyne and Wear and enjoy going out walking with my camera, I don't get too far and don't walk much more than 5 miles as always on my own, although I'm ok with my own company, it would be nice to meet someone to go out walking with who knows a few good walks (I'm still new to it all) I'm happy to walk and talk, walk and not talk, Coast or Country, I'm easy either way. More than willing to test Tea Rooms and Pub for a drink and a snack too. I've got a bulging disc in my back but it only affects me if I stand too long! So, Male or Female friends for walking would be lovely. I'm easygoing and friendly and can chat for ever if you let me. So, anyone out there would like to get together for walks please drop me a message and I will get back to you soon. I'm always online so will pick up messages quickly. Oh and happy to go along in a group too if there's any out there.... well, that's all from me, chat soon.... I hope!
Marie :)

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Kingston Upon Hull.

My Message: I love anything that involves the great outdoors and particularly keen on skiing and walking. Whilst my body maybe in its 50s, in my mind I'm still in my 20s and tends not to take life as serious as it should! Walking on my own is okay, but I would prefer to share the adventure with someone. I'm no peak bagger or trying to break any records, I just walk for the sheer enjoyment of it. I'm equally happy on leisurely flat or more adventurous strenuous terrain, whether it's a short walk, a full day or something longer, at any time of year, whatever the weather. I've walked mainly in the North Yorkshire with the odd venture over to Cumbria. I'm hoping to walk Helvellyn and Striding Ridge in the winter, one day as I've heard it is unbelievable in the snow. The Dark Peak has been recommended, but have only managed the one venture to Mam Tor, I'm yet to fully appreciate what the region has to offer, hopefully before this summer ends. Working 12 hour shifts is pretty unsociable, and working 2 weekends out of 4, along with most bank holidays whilst it can be a little inconvenient, it does give me free days and the chance to avoid peak weekend crowds.

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Hull.
My Message: Hi, my names is Lee from East Yorkshire, I enjoy walking and related challenges. I am currently what can only be described as unfit and out of shape, so my pace isn't great, though not snails pace....... gives more of an opportunity to take in the scenery!! With that in mind I did complete Scafell Pike a couple of years ago which was an achievement for me.
Looking for potential walking companions of any age or gender who are willing to take a steady pace and not quick March throughout the walk.
I'm not looking to climb mount everest nor am I just looking to walk round the corner.
Hopefully the more I get our the more I will achieve with improving my fitness levels etc.
I do also have a Springer Spaniel who may well want to come along depending where we go.
If you think I could be a walking campanile for you please get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my late 20s, based near Ross-on-wye.

My Message: Hi there - my name's Alec and I'm 27yrs old. I currently live in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. I'm an avid outdoors guy looking to develop a new circle of friendship with like-minded individuals - very mature for my age. Happy to walk one-on-one or as part of a group. I'm very sociable and very much enjoy a good challenge.
I'm looking for somone to go hiking/trekking with all over the place - not going to restrict myself to one area. I like to 'get away' I must admit. Love to get out and explore and whilst I've not been camping for a while, would certainly do this with the right person/people. Happy to take on all sorts of hikes/treks - whether strenuous or moderate. Am open to travelling to meet etc and vice versa.
Am looking for mid-length / long-distance walks - 10 miles +. Am doing the Mountain Trail Challenge in Brecon Beacons on 12/09/15. Am also looking to do the 3 Peaks Challenge next year so need to increase fitness etc. Definitely enjoy good conversation and a drink at the end (or a cheeky pitstop) of a walk to socialise and get to know people better.
If you're interested in arranging something, please do get in touch. I'd love to hear from you. Cheers, Alec

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Haxey, North Lincs.
My Message: hello I am quite young in my outlook, have just started strenuous walking again over the last few years (and I am loveing it). Can manage up to about 12 miles so far but looking to stretch myself even further. Used to do mountain scrambling and lots of challenge walks although not competitive anymore would still like to do the distance looking for male or female companions. can map read to a certain extent enough for marked paths anyway but having done lots of walking in the past know my way round quite a few. Wouldn't mind doing a walking holiday at some stage. No probs with distance have own transport and now retired am free quite a lot of the time.

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Stockport.
My Message: I used to spend a lot of time walking in Snowdonia. Recently had a major health scare (Cardiac Arrest) and now looking at pastures closer to home (Peak District etc) to get me back into the walking way. I have lost my fitness and I have an ICD implant [shocking I know ;)]. Ideally looking to walk with someone on some easy walks at first. Someone who can understand my situation (not push me too hard to begin with) and my fears (probably only psychological). I used to be pretty fit and game for anything but need to be a bit careful for a while until I feel comfortable again. I have car.

I am a Walker, in my late 60s, based near Kirkby Stephen.
My Message: Hi there
I live in South Cumbria and have walked the dales and lake district most of my life. I have just lost my walking buddy. So looking for someone new to walk with. I’m a fair weather walker. (Well I walk for the views) I think I can chat about most things but also listen and I do enjoy a good laugh but most of all enjoy some pub grub on returning from the hills. I’m recently retired so most days are OK for me.
So if you’re looking for company I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near York.
My Message: Hi
I am looking for new walking friends male or female. I have many years experience having trekked abroad and bagged many British hills. And lots of british national trails as well. But equally I am happy to walk 5 miles along the river so please don't let that put you off. I like to bring my dog along when possible but it's not essential. I drive and am able to travel a reasonable distance for a nice walk. I sometimes work unsociable hours but can be free most Sundays some Saturdays and odd weekdays. I'm not averse to a local evening walk either. I have basic climbing and scrambling skills - i can belay as well. But I can't read a map to save my life! - sorry ! But am willing to learn if you are very patient.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Ps if you haven't put a pic up of yourself I won't reply a girls gotta be careful you know!
No smokers please.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Eye.
My Message: Hi, i'm Wendy. I am a keen walker but as the years have gone by my walking buddies have dropped out with knees, tendons and the like, leaving me walking on my own or pottering round the garden. So it's time to regroup, find one or two new genuine walking friends, and get out there again. I enjoy a wide range of walking, in any weather, and am probably most comfortable between 10-15 miles. I'll do everything from regular short day walks (with or without coffee at the end), which would need to be within an hour's drive or so from my home in Suffolk. Up to long distance hikes in the national parks and uplands. I have done the Coast to Coast (brilliant), SW Coast Path and Macmillan way, which I enjoyed so much I kept going north to join up with the Coast path.
There don't seem to be any walkers based in the East of England on this site so if you are out there, get in touch

I am a Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Castle Douglas.

My Message: When I first moved to the UK from Canada, one of the things that I looked forward to most was walking in places where I didn't have to worry about bears or overly-aggressive deer! Seven years on, I've managed to climb Snowdon, bag a couple of Munros (including Ben Nevis), and been on several mid-length walks from places as varied as Unst in Shetland to the North Downs Way, but that's about it.
I would describe myself as a woman who is young at heart with a good sense of humour. I enjoy comedy, theatre, films, reading and history. I'm in decent shape, have two adorable rescued rotties (they're exceptionally friendly with people - but unfortunately have not been well socialised with other dogs), and am happy to travel to meet up for walks - or pitch in for petrol - as needed. I'm good at reading maps, but my compass using skills definitely need some work.
As I work full-time, walking is limited to weekends and (Scottish) school holidays. If you're interested in meeting up for a walk, please get in touch. [Nb: I'm interested in walking pretty much anywhere, but figure it's good to start close to home when you're just meeting up for the first few times!]
