I am a Walker, in my early 70s, based near Barrow-in-furness.
My Message: Hello
I am looking for walking companions for walks fairly local to me.... Cumbria and Lancashire.... quite willing to travel further if I find a walking companion who travels at the same speed as I do!!!! Would love to do a longer walk at a slow pace.. stopping at places of interest... but hey I am getting ahead of myself.
Can only manage 5-6 miles these days have done 10 this year but really too much and I suffer the next day.
My walks are more enjoyable if done at pace where the scenery can be enjoyed and a route march is not a necessity. Can do hills but only with poles and it takes me a while to get down again.....
So if you feel that you could put up with me on your walks please contact me....
Updated as I have had knee surgery at the end of last year.....still do 5 miles and still love to get out on the low fells...or seeing interesting places - like Malham cove...
Regards
Lilian

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Huddersfield.
My Message: Hi
My name's Kate and I'm really interested in improving my walking skills and seeing and enjoying much more of the outdoors, both at weekends and also when I'm free mostly at weekends but sometimes during the week. I'd really like to try new walks and challenges, beginning in the places I've mentioned. I would enjoy some company for this and to maybe have time to have a drink/coffee and chat with, at the end of a walk. I am very interested in meeting people to walk with who might introduce me to new walks, but in a low key, not too serious way. I hope to find folk who want to try regular outings for fun and adventure and to take in as much scenery as possible. Please get in touch if any of this this resonates with you. I shall look forward to hearing from you. Kate

I am a Walker, in my late 60s, based near Worcester.
My Message: Male walker, based in Worcester 67, fit, non-smoker looking for female walking companions/ friends to share my love of walking the hills and mountains. I frequent the Brecon Beacons, Malverns, Shropshire and Cotswolds and occasional visits to Snowdonia, Lakes and Peak District. Last 10 years saw me doing Isle of Skye, Scafell Pike, Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp and Inca Trail. Enjoy country walks and the pub meal/ drink or cream tea at the end. Like walks over 5 miles long but not necessarily uphill. I have good sense of humour and easygoing with good map reading skills. If your are interested in sharing a walk please get in touch. Doug

I am a Walker, in my mid 30s, based near Harrogate.
My Message: Hi, I'm Richard, 35, single and living in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. I enjoy getting out into the countryside for walks, especially the nearby Yorkshire Dales and my favourite part of the country the Lake District. I enjoy photography and always have my camera out on my walks. I enjoy both short walks with a country pub to end, or longer more challenging walks with a peak or two or three! I've recently decided to complete the 214 Wainwrights, but am looking to do the best walks rather than just the quickest routes. Would be up for some camping as well, now that spring is arriving. It would be nice to meet like minded people, especially any females looking for a walking partner.

I am a Walker, in my mid 20s, based near Neston.
My Message: Hi I'm Ross, I'm 29 and based on the Wirral.
I get out walking most weeks (mainly weekdays) and mainly in Snowdonia or The Peak District currently but interested in venturing further afield to The Lake District when time allows. I'm looking for someone to share this great hobby and my experiences with (male or female) and for a bit of company on the hills/mountains. I'm happy with any sort of level, however tend to go a bit mad some days and leave myself a bit fragile for a few days afterwards. Like to bag a few peaks and summits on my days out rather than rack up distance.
If you'd like to join me then get in touch!

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Newby Bridge.

My Message: I am spending every weekend and holidays in Newby Bridge as I love walking in the Fells. Did Fairfield Horseshoe in snow on Saturday 25th March in sunshine.... wonderful! Red Screes on 27th March - again in snow. Looking for walking friends ideally both sexes! Hardly any of my friends have time or interest in the hills so I have been hanging out with Lake District Walkers when no friends around. Am upbeat, enthusiastic and don't take myself seriously. It is all so lovely and I would love to have male and female friends to share the joy of fell walking.
I did Ill Bell and Foswick on Saturday 8th April. Afterwards sat in Troutbeck church yard amongst all the daffodils looking at the ridge I had just climbed. What a beautiful spot!
Am so impressed with what I have on my doorstep. Gummers How gives fab 360 degree views of fells and estuary. There's two easy local walks at Cartmel Fell and High dam which are beautiful and good for friends who like views and little fells!
There's something for everyone here!
I also love Wansfell when you've just couple of hours to spare. Still to do Loughrigg Fell and so much more!

I am a Walker, in my late 60s, based near London.
My Message: Hi, male walker 68 from the London area. Like walking in Derbyshire as a preference as it is an easy drive from London but Yorkshire is good as are the Brecons. I normally camp as I have a 3 1/2 year old black Labrador so BandBs are not always an option. Have done the likes of Hadrian's Wall, Yorkshire 3 peaks, North Downs and the Brecons in the past but 10/15 miles a day are enough nowadays, especially with the dog. Will be visiting Derbyshire in May and normally stay in Hope and would not mind finding a companion to spend a day or so with. Sorry, but not sure how to attach a photo!!

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Cheshire.
My Message: HI, Late 50’s single male walker looking to meet up with a female kindred spirit.
Reasonably experienced and fit I can walk an occasional week end, but mainly midweek.
Although the Peak district is nearest to me I am willing to travel to new walks in different areas.
An inspiring, energetic hike, whether in the hills or following local footpaths with a packed lunch followed by a pub meal is a day well spent, and better shared.
So if you're local or further a field and think we may get along, I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Southport.
My Message: I enjoy walking most weekends in Wales and the Lakes and the rest of the North West in summer, and further afield on holiday.
In winter I like walking abroad. Map reading is not a strong point so normally walk with groups or friends and have walked parts of several of the long distance footpaths, particularly enjoyed the Wales Coastsl path as well as quite a few Wainwrights.
I enjoy urban walks too and would like to meet someone whose map reading skills are better than mine and shares my passion for the great outdoors.
Other passions include travelling, 80s music, theatre, foreign cinema, cake, chocolate and languages.
I am based in Merseyside and happy to meet for a day walk in the area or further afield.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Dursley.
My Message: Single with time on my hands. New to walking and would love to meet some like minded people and hopefully make some new friends who like to have fun and not take life too seriously! Male or female. A long(ish) walk, fresh air, sandwiches with lashings and lashings of ginger beer, followed by a glass of wine (possibly!!) and a good meal and some fun conversation and witty repartee!
live in Gloucestershire but will travel anywhere- love the North and there is so much to discover.
looking forward to hearing from you- wherever you are.

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Lincoln.
My Message: I am a stroller/rambler more than a hiker, I guess; just love to be outdoors and 'wandering' the dales, fens, lakes, seashore... all of our great countryside. It would be lovely to have a walking friend, male or female, to wander with. Dogs are very welcome... I am normally accompanied by an elderly but active Chihuahua (hope that doesn't put folk off!). Love North Norfolk, Yorkshire Dales and Moors, Lake District, Rutland and where I live - Lincolnshire. Hope to hear from you...

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Wigan.

My Message: Hello, I'm Michael, like everyone on here (I assume) I enjoy a walk... However I have one problem, it is this computer in front of me and the fact that I work for myself from home... I love to go out for a walk but with nobody to go with it is getting off my bottom to go out and embrace the world that is the hardest thing. I do have one walking companion but he is a bit of a fair weather one, doesn't like the cold, doesn't like the rain, the wind can be a problem as can puddles and mud... or anything over 10 miles (who am I kidding, he whines after 6.. ).. Perhaps you've come across his kind before, he is a whippet!
So to get out and give myself a challenge (I do enjoy a challenge) I'm planning on completing the Wainwrights... to date (16th Feb 2017) I have done none.. ! I do love walking by myself, for me the whole point of climbing a mountain is the solitude and unspoilt natural beauty.. So I'm not really looking to go romping with a gaggle, but if I can find a select one or two to share the beauty of the great outdoors and perhaps a pint and a bite to eat on the way home I'd be delighted.
Experience wise I do not care if you are a complete novice or have all the badges.. Though hopefully you will be able to share a decent conversation and not just want to talk about every peak you've ever climbed.. ! Am looking to head to the lakes for some shorter walks and some longer.. Working for myself I can pretty much go when I want, depends from week to week. Female or Male, age not too important probably 20something to 50something.. but age is a number. So if you might like to join me for a walk in the Lakes drop me a note and perhaps I'll see you there!
And I know he is cute... no asking to come for a walk with me just to meet my dog... He'll only come if it is nice and not too far!!

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Preston.
My Message: Hello. I am a fit and active 56yr old male living near Preston. I'm a very keen walker and will go anywhere within 100 miles for day walks or anywhere in the UK for weekends away/short breaks. I'm hoping to meet a lady between the ages of 46-58 for friendship initially and if the chemistry is right between us then hopefully we can become more than good friends. I'm looking for someone who enjoys walking and a good chat and a laugh and maybe have a drink/bar snack at a nice country pub afterwards. If you are interested, why not get in touch. Ray

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Carlisle.
My Message: Hi,
Looking for someone or people to walk with (male or female). I enjoy a challenge and have just got back into walking regularly. I've done about 120 Wainwrights, the West Highland Way, the Arran Coastal Way, various chunks of the Cumbria Way, South Coast path and the Pennine Way in the past and recently walked for a week in the Brecon Beacons. Would love to do another long distance path though. I adore the west coast of Scotland and try to get a regular fix however brief.
I enjoy thoughtful and interesting conversation as well as a good chuckle at the ridiculous, and always appreciate a chance to stop and look at the wonderful things in this world, rather than charging right through it. I work Monday to Thursday so happy to walk any day over the weekend.
I enjoy the arts, music, reading and creative writing, but am rarely happier than when I'm on top of a hill.
Good Wishes
Happy Walking
Di
