I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Chatton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Looking for a walking partner/partners especially but not exclusively to do Greensand Way. Also: Life is for living! Friendly lady looking for walking partners male or female - especially for Northumberland region where she has two 'home from home' bases to use. Loves the Northumbrian coast, its castles and sandy beaches. However is also interested in Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. Travels abroad in Europe for walking and would like a companion for that. Has own car and is happy to be flexible with transport. Wide range of walking, travel and other interests. Not a boring companion by any means - interested in many topics of conversation. Also a 'bon viveur'! Best wishes

A bit more about me:

I really don't like Scrambling & Edges - they are defintely not for me. With regard to the weather, this is the UK so it's going to rain sooner or later isn't it? Fine with me, I've got waterproofs. I'm not bothered about dogs one way or the other. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Cockermouth hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi!

I'm fairly new to Cumbria -having recently moved to the area - after many years ambition to do so! So, primarily looking for male/female friends 'into the outdoors' - mainly fell walking/scrambling and Munro bagging. In the main, I walk with my best friend and very fit ESS (English Springer Spaniel.) So, you must like dogs and be fit!

I now have all the Wainwrights 'in the bag' but require a bigger bag for the Munros with still over 184 to complete. This requires more travelling over the border and would prefer to do with an affable and experienced walking partner. HA! If you are up for that - good news!

I have recently started camping again - and would welcome the opportunity to wild camp.

I have travelled extensively and trekked in many parts of the world - but always the UK I return to - and love.

I'm not looking for a relationship per se - just friends to share my love of the outdoors, hopefully with a good line in chat, ability not to take things (themselves) too seriously and up for a bit of 'leg pulling!'Enjoying the craic!'

My Preferred Walk Grades*: 6:7:8:9:

My Preferred Walk Areas:
North West Scotland; North East Scotland; Southern Scotland; North West England;

A bit more about me:

I quite enjoy Scrambling & Edges but don't like too much exposure. I'm happy to walk in all weathers - sunshine, snow, hail, wind & rain - bring it on. I like walking with dogs and will bring my own. I'd say my map reading & navigation skills are pretty good. I can drive and have a car.

I am also interested in:

  • Camping on Campsites - Camping where there is a shop, toilets, showers & possibly a pub;
  • Wild Camping - Camping out in the wilds well away from anyone & any facilities;
  • Peak Bagging - where the aim is to climb all the hills or mountains on a particular list such as 'bagging' all the Wainwrights or Munros;
  • Long Distance Path Walking - Multi-day walks like The Pennine Way, Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk;

I am not actively looking for anyone other than a new walking companion but if that right person came along . . .

I am a Walker, in my early 40s, based near Sheffield hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Lost my long term walking partner to a boyfriend, now I am looking for people/person to walk with. I previously loved walks in the Lakes or Snowdonia with a stayover at a pub and a beer. It would be fab to meet people to do things like that with. Also interested in challenges (did Everest Base Camp this year) and would love to go to Ben Nevis, Skye and other exciting places.

Equally happy to meet people just to go for a walk.

My Message: A Yorkshire lass I'm enjoying making new memories and having new adventures here in the Highlands, wild swimming in lochs, walking in the mountains, exploring remote beaches and skiing.

I enjoy long distance walks and have started working my way through the Monroes, albeit very slowly!

Someone who could could help me improve my navigation skills to enable me to get up to some high level peaks (or show me the way up) would be great, also happy to have a wild swim afterwards would be even better!

I am a Walker, in my late 30s, based near South London hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: Hi There, I'm looking to meet new people/friends to go on some nice walks or camping/kayaking adventures with in the UK or abroad. I live in London but grew up in the country and I'm struggling to find people that love the outdoors and escaping the city as much as I do, or that don't have other responsibilities. I am happy hiking all day or multi day hikes, I also love a bit of kayaking, bouldering, pretty much anything that burns a bit of energy and I am more than happy to drive wherever for a nice walk and chat. If you fancy a walk or a little adventure I would love to hear from you!

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Brighton hoping to meet both Male and Female new friends to go walking with.

My Message: White male aged 66, 40 years walking experience, living in Sussex, fit and friendly seeks to meet an adventurous male or woman walking companion aged about 40+ for walking local and national trails together in the UK and in Europe. Any individual willing to explore the hidden and interesting bye ways of Britain, if warm sleep out during the summer and enjoy a few beers at the end of a days challenging walking, before England and Wales become so sanitized it will look like a theme park( see George Monbiot).

Probably suitable for someone living in London or the South-East but, but if practicable, I would not exclude other contacts from around the country. Most important is the love of the countryside, coastal paths and Highlands of Scotland, quiet places and friendly conversation.

I can cope with a little bit of scrambling if it is short and there are no steep drops. I'm happy to walk in most weathers but do not like snow and ice. Sorry, but I really do not like walking with Dogs. To be honest, my map reading & navigation skills are a bit averagely average. I can drive but do not have access to a vehicle.

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Penrith.

My Message: Hi, I am an experienced hill walker living near Penrith. I have walked in Europe, America and throughout the British Isles. My hill walking started in The Lakes and having recently moved into the National Park I am now renewing my memories of these iconic hills. My lifelong passion are the hills of Scotland having climbed over 250 Munros. That said, I enjoy walking in all wild areas and like to take time to appreciate the views and wildlife. A great day on the hill followed by a pub is my ideal day. If that appeals then please get in contact.

I am a Walker, in my early 60s, based near Muir Of Ord.

My Message: Hello my name is Sue and I live in the highlands. I'm looking for walking friend/s to enjoy the fabulous scenery! I've not done much serious walking for a few years as have been into triathlon and lately cycling. Now I feel it's a good time to get back to walking, either long or short but am a bit wary of ridges! My other interests are gardening (because I've got one) theatre, cinema, good food, travel and my dog. Just to mention a few! I'm retired so have time to go off whenever I feel like it, why don't you join me? Thanks for reading.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Kent.

My Message: Hi my name is Richard, I am a keen North Kent/London runner and walker of 57 years. I like nothing more than to explore the great outdoors on foot. Its funny I started walking some years back and when realising I was not as fit as I thought I started to run to improve my hill stamina and caught the bug. I have walked all over the UK either in groups or solo including the West Highland Way, half of the Southwest Coastal Path and half of Offa’s Dyke, I’d love to finish these walks one day. The South Downs Way was a great walk achieved in chunks. I have been very interested for a long time and admired the achievements of others who have climbed Mount Everest and finally achieved a lifetime ambition with friends and trekked to Everest Base Camp a few years back, why…’because its there’. I am just back from a trek to Machu Picchu, an incredible life experience. So, where to now, looking for a new challenge with new company.

My Message: I love walking and enjoy everything to do with the countryside, the coast, and the hills. I'm fairly fit but do need a breather now and again!!
Be good to walk occasionally with someone whose happy to admire the view sometimes while I catch up.... at least until I get fitter!! I can manage 8-12 miles on the level at the moment. I managed the C2C a few years ago!! I'm retired so can walk during the week but have a fairly busy life.
I have wheels and I'm happy to travel.
I tend to be a bit busy in the summer with a few festivals and holidays!!

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Preston.

My Message: Hello Fellow-walkers,
I'm Jeannette and live south of Preston. I enjoy walking and the outdoors generally and although do walk alone prefer to walk with a companion or a small group of two or three like minded people.
I love being surrounded by the hills, so particularly enjoy the lakes and dales and will happliy camp out...... but must admit I am more a 'fair weathered camper' and enjoy a pub evening meal as opposed to cooking on the stove every day.

I would like to meet up with both guys and girls to go walking with, either weekdays or weekends.

Hope to hear from you. Have fun!

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Windsor.

My Message: I am a straight single 57 year old male with a real passion for the great outdoors. As an experienced walker and walk leader I am quite capable of finding my way around without too many mistakes, but do sometimes miss the companionship of a like minded partner to share my enjoyment of our wonderfully scenic and diverse landscapes. A perfect opportunity to explore the mix of valleys, woods, fells and moorlands; together with all the bugs, plants, birds and animals that call them home; the nearest thing we have to natural environments. The only downside is that any walking partner would have to accept the fact that due to having had to take on the role of full time (24/7) carer for an elderly relative with dementia my trips out are at the moment limited to rather short local walks some weekdays and 2 or 3 holidays each year.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Aberdeen.

My Message: Hi, I'm looking to meet fellow walkers who don't mind a wee dog coming along and a walker who doesn't really know her Corbett's from Munro's, but likes a biscuit at the top!- that's both of us. However I do walk regularly, love nature, and don't mind being outside in most weathers. I enjoy art, scuba, reading, music and am pretty easy going. I would like to extend my walking, and to share some company in doing so would be great. I'm not keen on heights so sheer ridges and summits are not for me I'm afraid, but I'm fairly fit and up for a wide range of walks, otherwise. I hope to extend some skills like map reading, compass etc without losing the enjoyment of just a good day of walking! I work full time so weekends are best, and holidays are much more flexible in the distances I can travel.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Stourport-on-severn.

My Message: I've just come home from work, walking all day in the Worcestershire countryside in the sun with a pack of dogs, including my own. Having served my time climbing hills and mountains with groups of children in the Outdoor Education sector, I now spend my working hours walking with dogs and feel it would be good and healthy to spend my leisure time walking with adult company. About me - my name is Alison (50 next year and planning various walking trips to celebrate) and if you walk with me you walk with my Collie, Gwenon. For me its about being out there in the countryside, listening to the birds, hugging the trees, reconnecting with the natural world, catching the views as much as bagging peaks - although this is always an added bonus. I am as happy in the lowlands, in the woods, by the sea as I am navigating my way across highlands and moorland. I am a sound navigator and enjoy exploring as well as working out the maths! I enjoy exploring off the beaten track and have also been known to while away my time playing in the stream. If any of this sounds appealing and you are willing to join me being out there in the wild or not so wild, get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Crook, Co Durham.

My Message:
Hi everyone, this is the first time I have used this message board or anything like it so I am not exactly sure what to put. I am 56 coming up 57 and am on my own. As for the graded walks I am not sure, but I like to walk the hills in the Lake District and equally like a low level walk through the valleys. I don't like to start a walk when it's pouring down, but have got caught in the rain many a time whilst out. I've ticked a few of the boxes regards where I would like to walk but would be glad to go anywhere where there is countryside, woods etc. I would be glad to here from anyone, male or female with similar interests. If anyone would like anymore information please contact me any time.

I am a Walker, in my early 30s, based near Birmingham.

My Message: Hi all fellow walkers! I'm a 32 year old single male looking for male or female walkers and hiking buddies to explore the local region, notably the Peak District, Parts of Wales such as the Brecon Beacons or Snowdonia and the Lakes and Beyond in the Scottish Highlands. I'm reasonably fit and active, as I run or cycle often, and have done a touch of scrambling in Wales. I'm relatively new to it all, so by no means super experienced, but I'd love to share and learn from other walkers and individuals and go and explore what the great outdoors has to offer! I can navigate ( in basic terms!) and I own a trusty walking GPS along with all mapping paraphernalia. If you'd like to meet a fun, young, fit and open minded give-it-a-go walker who will attempt anything at least once (despite my fear of heights!) then I look forward to hearing from you!

I am a Walker, in my mid 60s, based near Llandrindod Wells.

My Message: There is nothing better than for me to be out walking in the hills and mountains of Wales (home now) or Scotland (home for 6 years until 2012) with my 2 spaniels. I would prefer to be out and about, joking and laughing with close friends rather than watching mind numbing TV on my own. I'm a Yorkshire lad, so any testing peak, anywhere in the UK or Europe, I would give it my best shot. There has to be some common sense prevailing when the location is chosen, so Wales, the Peak District, Cumbria, the South West would be easier to say yes to. Wild Camping, BandB, inns with good food and ale, I'm up for all of it, provided my dogs get to come too.

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near County Durham.

My Message: Hi, I live in County Durham and I am looking for walking companions to walk with me mainly on weekends but can do some mid week walks also. I wouldn't say I'm an experienced walker but have really enjoyed what I have done so far which includes Ben Nevis. I don't mind the weather or people bringing dogs and I enjoy a country pub at the end of the day. Looking forward to making new friends and enjoying new adventures.
