I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Cardiff.

My Message: Hello out there, my name is Mike, I’m aged 56 and three quarters, have my own teeth and many original fittings. I’m looking for someone to share walks of all kinds but especially in the hills. I’ve been a walker for over 40 years and despite some dodgy knees and a slipped disc I can still manage a long day out, enjoy some light scrambling and I can use a map and compass. I usually walk solo but would enjoy some company now and again and at the end of the day perhaps a pie and a pint, or a cassoulet and claret, or a toastie and a cup of tea. Hopefully a walking partner will encourage me to get out more than I manage at the moment. I work full-time but can manage an occasional week day as well as weekends. I will be in the Lake District (staying near Patterdale) from 20-27 May and the Highlands (in Glen Nevis) from 10-17 June if anyone can manage it; short notice I know.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Perth.

My Message: Hi, my name is Petra. I have a lively Springer Spaniel who needs his long walks every weekend (and shorter ones during the week). I work full time so weekends are when I can go out walking. I enjoy gentle walks (anything from about 4-8 miles) and can cope with a bit of a gradient. (I'm not a Muntro bagger!) It's also nice to have a wee picnic stop about half way and possibly a coffee stop as well!. I am looking for a like minded person who would like to join me walking at weekends. I don't mind travelling and staying in dog friendly B & B's or small hotels as that way you get to see more of the country. I also have my own tent with electric hook up etc for summer camping. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Carlisle.

My Message: Hi to All,
Looking to join up with fellow walkers, particularly in the Lake District, but would consider the Highlands, Wales, Yorkshire Dales and North Yorks moors too. Like to keep a steady pace (no route marching!) but also like to savour the views and have a cuppa! Great to finish in a tea shop or pub and sample the local ale.
Quite chatty but can be quiet too... especially on the uphills! If you fancy meeting up, drop me a line.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Aberdeenshire.

My Message: Hello. I am a 53 year old female with a young mind who enjoys a laugh and good conversation when walking. I live in Aberdeenshire and have wonderful walks on the doorstep which my dog and I enjoy in most weathers. I am not up to mountain climbing or massive walks which last for days, but will push myself to achieve a good days walking and am happy to explore other areas of our beautiful countryside too so, why not get in touch and see if we can share our love of walking. Regards, Beth

My Message: Hi everyone
I am very new to hiking on my own, and I am still breaking in new boots. I am interested in hiking to just about anywhere, days, weekends and holidays to different places of interest. I am 53 Petite, fit and healthy. I have sons who are in the British forces and an ex partner who is very into ACF. I have spent many hours watching my family and feel the time has come now to achieve things for myself. I have recently joined the London Adventure Group who have lots of hiking days and weekends, and I am looking for anyone who is interested in joining me on some of my hiking adventures and hopefully make some nice new friends along the way.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Carlisle.

My Message: Hi.. I'm Shona and I'm lucky enough to live close to the Northern Lake District. Looking for like minded people to walk with in the Lakes and would like try some Scottish hills and the Isles too if anyone can guide me!
Like to keep a reasonable pace but no route marching please! Enjoy a cuppa and a chance to savour the view. Have done some of the main fells in the Lakes and getting to know the area slowly. Have done a wee bit of map reading... could do with more practice. Building fitness level again after a back problem which is now resolved... at the moment can manage up to grade 7. So if you fancy a wee blether with an infectious smile for company, let me know!

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Glasgow.

My Message: Hi.
I always tell folks that I don't have a tick list of Munros, but..... I enjoy walking in the hills, Scotland and Lakes, and really like finding new places - hence the Munros. Honestly.
Happy to walk in all weathers; after all, if you aren't out there and the sun comes out, you have only yourself to blame. Summer, winter, autumn, spring, all seasons.
My walking companion has had to take things easier, doctor's orders, so I am looking for someone who isn't going to sprint up the hills, but rather take time to enjoy, and to explore. We'll soon know if we match for speed. Weekends are best for me.
Hope to hear from you.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near South Gloucestershire.

My Message: Hi, my name is Sue, I am a young 53 year old, married and live in South Gloucestershire a beautiful part of the country. My other half will walk but only short distances, so I am looking for female/male walkers of a similar age to walk either weekends or school holidays (I work in a school)! I am prepared to travel within a reasonable distance depending on the walk. I particularly enjoy walking near the coast or river and am quite happy to walk anything up to 6/7 miles with hopefully a pub meal or cream tea at the end. My aim this year is to get fit, so if you would like to meet up and help me achieve this then please get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Derby.

My Message: Hi, I live in Derbyshire and I am genuinely looking for a male companion to share all there is to love and enjoy in walking and discovering new experiences. I have loved walking for many years, and has always been my love and a way of keeping fit and healthy. I love walking in any weather and as often as possible. I enjoy both gentle walking, stoping to take in views and breath the fresh air, and longer all day walks which are more challenging.

I love walking holidays, and I would very much like to explore further. There are so many areas of the country I have yet to discover, and I am looking for a like minded male to share these times with. I would love to plan a walking holiday this year.

I am free to walk most week-ends, and also some evenings when the evenings are lighter.

I would love to hear from you if you would like to share my love of walking, and the discovery of many new walks up and down the country.

Thank you for reading my message, Olwyn.

I am a Walker, in my early 50s, based near Newcastle Upon Tyne.

My Message: Hi I'm a reasonably fit 50+ lady looking for walking companion(s) or a group of walkers in the North East of England. Just to get away from the same old home to work routine that goes on week after week. My partner thinks getting from A to B should be done by the quickest and fastest route possible. (Why walk when you can get there in a rocket!) Have previously done some walking/hiking in North Yorks and Lake District and Northumberland. I'm free most weekends, but would also like to organise a group walk for a few days. I know the weather's not great at the moment, but meeting up just to talk about organising walks could be fun and could be done over a couple of drinks in a warm friendly pub? If you fancy walking or talking about walking, get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my mid 40s, based near Dollar.

My Message: Hi, I am new to hillwalking but very keen, my husband won't come with me and I don't fancy going alone so would love a walking partner. I don't mind age or sex but would just like somebody easygoing and relaxed to keep me company. I work full time but as I am self employed I can book days off anytime although midweek would suit best. I live in clackmannanshire so somebody nearby would be good.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Aberdeen.

My Message: Hello

I have become fairly passionate about walking since I took it up 4 years ago and am hoping to climb some Munros next year, having tackled Ben Macdui and Braeriach recently - not to 'bag' them but to find unknown areas of Scotland (despite being Scottish born and bred!). Also would like to do the 'haute' route and G10 in Europe now the family are independant.
My pace is moderate as I like to look about, but steady, have recently come back from trekking in Peru which was a great experience. Planning on being free from work Fridays into Saturdays. Am a novice but enthusiastic map reader who has very basic sat nav skills.
Although I am a member of a walking group, it is good to walk/chat to a companion. Look forward to hearing
from any like minded folk.

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Southampton.

My Message: Hi, I really enjoy walking but am generally too enthusiastic for most of my friends. I would like to meet a like minded walker to move me out of my comfort zone and support me to improve my fitness through regular, active walks (preferably involving a hill or two!) Biggest problem is that I live in Hampshire and obviously need to drive further afield to encounter any real altitude! Dorset coast is fabulous and only an hour away as indeed are the South Downs. Am interested in exploring further afield but would like opportunity to meet like-minded souls. I have been a walker off and on most of my life but would really love to move up a gear or two. If you think we might hit it off, would be great to hear from you.

I am a Walker, in my mid 50s, based near Helensburgh.

My Message: Hi, I am a newly single female living close to Loch Lomond and have recently started walking. Its difficult being too adventurous on your own so I am looking for a male of similar age to enjoy the walks. It would be good if he was a more experienced walker as I would like to go further afield- even down to the Lakes as I believe it is beautiful there although I live on the edge of beautiful walking country. I just love being outdoors, for the smells, views and of course the glass of wine at the end ! I am happy to travel.

I am a Walker, in my late 50s, based near Dunblane.

My Message: Hi,

My name is Hazel. I am very new to walking but reasonably fit and keen to raise my fitness level and to find my way around the lovely area I live in as well as discover other areas which appeal to me. I currently work full-time so mostly weekends but I can get occasional week days off without too much notice or fuss. Enjoy my own company but find walking alone just a little too lonely and would love to find a companion to walk with and to share the experience, the scenery and some lovely coffee/cake/lunch etc. after our walk.

I generally find that I take a little longer than most to complete walks. Thats not because I am flagging... usually just because I like to look around me at the view. So if you like to breath the air, look around, not clock-watch (and eat cake) please do get in touch.

I am a Walker, in my late 40s, based near Grantown-on Spey.

My Message: Hello'
I'm a 48 yr old fairly quiet and easygoing male, married with 2 youngish kids and living in the Cairngorms. Would like some keen but laid back male or female hillgoing company which doesn't ask repeately 'how far is it to go now'! (though chocolate rewards could be provided on hilltops).
Been hillwalking/climbing for 30+ yrs with increasingly creaky joints but still really enjoy longer hillwalks/scrambling/bothying/camping in Scotland. Also try and get to Europe for a couple of weeks each year- like trips to the Slovenian Alps and Pyrenees last year.
Being 'robbed' of my wife as an hill partner, shes a runner now and i mainly walk solo but i'd love to develop other friendships to plan and share good times, humour and scenery be it on hills /Hebridean islands/backpacking or perhaps via ferratas/easyish climbing.
Self employed and can take time away midweek-family permitting.
Be great to hear from you..

My Message: I'm a fit 50 year-old female who recently took up climbing munros and corbetts. I'm looking for hill-walking friends to share in the experience of the Scottish mountains as I'd prefer not to walk alone. I'm still a bit of a novice at navigation but am getting better with every walk I do. I'm Lothian-based so used to the long drives to reach the mountains. I work part-time so both mid-week and weekend walks a possibility. If you're interested in joining me in some new adventures please get in touch.

My Message: Well tired of walking on my own. Like another to take deep breaths with. I am 46, fit, sane and used to regular walks weekly for exercise and then longer ones weekends and hols. Been to lakes/Applecross/skye this year and have done a couple long distance West Highland Way. Like to have a walking companion. Confess to no tech navigational skills but up/round Loch Callater and Kander yesterday and Mt Keen on Friday so anyone in the area interested in doing the compass in a mist I can follow.
