Just a quick morning's walk but in sublime weather with fantastic view 360 degrees from both peaks [with] Just myself [weather] Dry & fine weather. - Simply awesome morning out

Didn't quite work out that way as the heavens opened about 7pm & I got soaked to the skin. Had to hurriedly retreat back to the car. [weather] Sun, cloud, low cloud & then torrential rain!

[weather] Low clouds down on tops gradually lifting. - Not the most obvious route to bag this mountain. A tough descent from Kirk Fell into Ennerdale & then back out again via the path alongside Loft Beck followed by a detour round Haystacks before climbing on a diagonal path from Dubs Quarry to the summit cairn of Fleetwith Pike. Great views down Buttermere made it all worth while though.

The descent back to the car park a little demanding with the children, (they loved it), Finished walk at 1715hrs. with a well deserved ice cream from the refreshment wagon. Had tea at the Fish Inn, Buttermere. Thoroughly enjoyable day out.

[with] With Mya my 11 year old and now tiring faithful Patterdale Terrier. [weather] Weather blustery with occasional showers with some strong cool winds for August! - Once bagged, headed home down ridge & back along footpath on west side of Buttermere.

Looking from Haystacks to Fleetwith Pike we felt we could never make it but it wasn't that bad. Nice view of the slate mine on the way up & the view across Buttermere & Crummock Water was amazing. Very fast down to the car but a bit of a scramble.
