Herdwick socks rubbed bad on my heal resulting in bad skinned heel, sock removed now in flip-flop boots & no sock & it started raining heavily (not great!). Sun was out most of time & a very enjoyable route apart from kit lit issues (new boots & socks now purchased!)

Tracey Cowell summited Calf Crag on September 28th, 2015 [from/via/route] Greenburn Horseshoe [with] solo [weather] Started misty then sunny & warm - Very boggy at the head of the horseshoe. No clear path here so navigation would be tricky in mist. There is a fence from Steel Fell to the tarn, after this there are intermittent poles marking the old boundary which leads you to near Calf Crag. Again navigation would be very tricky along the ridge in mist, very undulating & lots of knolls with no clear paths other than faint paths already trod or sheep tracks. A long distance from Calf Crag to Gibsons Knott. There is a nice path down to Greenburn beck from Helm Crag col.
