James Hughes summited Seat Sandal on February 13th, 2024 [from/via/route] From Grasmere over Fairfield down Stone Arthur [weather] Rolling mist at top of Seat Sandal & then blizzard conditions on Fairfield. Cleared up on descent over Stone Arthur. - Unorthodox climb up Seat Sandal. Climb up Fairfield culminated in blizzard. Bearings were not quite right.
Richard Fulcher conquered Seat Sandal on January 30th, 2024 [from/via/route] We parked in a lay-by on the A591 near to The Yan at Broadrayne. We followed the track past High Broadray & then to the SE of Great Tongue, this eventually took us up to Grisedale Hause. Here we turned sharp left & followed a steep path of loose stones up to the summit of Seat Sandal. Great views from here but cold & windy! We then descended down the more gentle slope to the south of the summit, eventually rejoining the original track past High Broadray & back to the A591. [with] Jen [weather] Cold winter's day, sheltered on the ascent but windy on the top. - AaI had a streaming cold & was glad to get down!
