Walking/Hiking Answers: Climbing Scafell Pike - Recommended Route?

Climbing Scafell Pike

Hi there,

I'm visiting the Lakes next weekend would like to walk up Scafell Pike with a friend. This is in an attempt to do some training for a hike up Kilimanjaro in late October.

We are both relatively fit and went walking in the Isle of Wight a couple of weekends back and covered a 23 mile coastal walk in a day.

Can you recommend a fairly challenging but not ridiculously tough/unstable rocks route that could be done in a day, so say starting at 8.30, finishing at say 5.30/6pm?
