In-use Test:
The Shasta from Keen is an attractive-looking low cut, walking shoe that I've been wearing during mild, dry UK Autumn weather over a variety of tarmac, asphalt and grassy terrain. It's very light and I've found it to be overall really very comfortable.
The footbed is nicely cushioned and provides good arch support. There's also a generous amount of padding around the cuff and tongue. (The tongue, however, doesn't seem to lie completely flat - although a little odd it doesn't detract in any way from the comfort.)
The breathability has been good plus I was impressed with the level of toe protection - the sole wraps up around the front to form the toe cap The traction provided by the sole was fine over the terrain I covered in my trips out.
I'm female and my shoe size is normally UK 7 but I needed a US size 10 (supposedly a UK size 7.5). Apart from that, the fit was good.
Keen's Shasta walking shoe is lightweight and provides good comfort and support. It's a great option for 'off-the hill' activities - nordic walking, travel, and more general walking.
The US/UK size conversion is a bit eccentric so check the size as you may need a bigger size than normal.
There is a waterproof version - this may be a better option for winter use
