In-use Test:

The Riversedge shirt from Tog24 is described as a technical shirt ie it combines features such as breathability and wicking with a contemporary, every-day looking design.

And I'm certainly more accustomed to a more 'on-the-hill' look when I'm ... er... on the hill - so I was quite interested to see how this performed on some long day hill walks during some recent hot summer weather in the Derbyshire Dales.

In fact, I was pleasantly surprised; the wicking/breathability were good plus the button-through front meant that it was possible to vary the ventilation. The odour-managment was also quite impressive - I'd be quite comfortable wearing the Riversedge for several days.

I did find, though, that the fit around the chest was a little too tight. This - together with the cut around the shoulders did affect the freedom of my arm movement which would be a problem if I'd had to do any scrambling at all.

I was wearing a shirt in my normal size - so I think the cut on the Riversedge is not that generous.

Of course, because it does have the appearance of a shirt, moving straight on to a post-walk refreshment venue was also pretty easy!

Buying Advice:

The Riversedge technical shirt from Tog24 is a great, warm weather travel/leisure shirt and certainly more comfortable in hot weather than a standard shirt - and that's its real strength. Yes - you can also use if for low level summer walking - but this is probably not why you'd buy it.
