If you are looking for something to use during spring and summer time to boost the performance of your current base layer but without too much bulk - then consider a wind-proof garment.

The Tornado ladies wind-proof jacket from Tog24 is a nicely styled, extremely light-weight jacket with a well-sized collar. Moreover, the fabric has a lovely soft feel - and doesn't 'crackle' to quite the same extent as other wind-proof garments I've tried.

Breathability was good and I found that the under-arm zips really useful during more active periods when I needed some additional 'cooling'.

It washes like a dream - and yes - it certainly does keep out the wind!

Buying Advice:

At this (spring/summer 06) reduced price it is a versatile, good-value addition to your kit. Its thermal insulation isn't great but then that's not what it's intended to provide. However, if you're looking for something breathable, water-proof, durable yet reasonably stylish for spring and summer walking then the Tog24 Tornado is certainly worthwhile considering.
