In-use Test:

Karrimor's X-Lite 20 is a 20 litre daypack with two zippered compartments - main one plus an additional smaller one on the front which is certainly large enough for an os map. Rather unusually, there is also a separate space (outside main compartment) for a hydration system bladder. It's easy to get the bladder in and out of this plus I found I could locate the drink tube in just the right place on the shoulder strap - so this all seemed to work well. On the outside there are also two stretch pockets on each side - handy for an external drink bottle or other small items needed on the go.

The shoulder straps have generous padding at the tops where they met shoulders. However, the waist belt is really just a strap - there's no padding nor any pockets at all on this.

The are attachment points for one walking pole on front.

The X-lite in this size is light weight yet big enough for the essentials needed for summer walking (lunch, light weight waterproof, fleece, OS maps, liquids). The F Format back system seemed very comfortable - it's quite close fitting which meant I was a little hot at time. However it did feel extremely stable.

Theoretically the back system is removable (so you could roll the pack up to carry it inside other luggage) ... however I found this quite a faf to do.

The fabric feels like it will be quite durable

Buying Advice:

Although it's perhaps a little pricey, I must say that I liked Karrimor's X-lite 20. It's light weight, comfortable and very stable for summer walking - or activities such as running or cycling.
