What is a Rigg?

What is a RIGG as in Bulman's Rigg which is located in Spitalshield Moor, Northumberland.

A. A Rigg is [also] a Scots word for the undulations or ridges in a field usually 15ft apart to aid drainage but with modern agriculture most of them have disappeared to facilitate modern machinery.
