Richmond Castle and the River Swale
Q. I have a very old original painting which I believe may be of an old stone bridge over the River Swale with a very distant Richmond Castle on the horizon.
My grandfather brought it out from England and he was born in 1846 and died in 1927.
I would like to know if there are any photos of that situation or whether in fact there is a possibility of Richmond Castle being visible from that old stone bridge which appears to have 3 arches under span.
Thank you.

A. Its difficult to know which old stone bridge you're referring to as the River Swale has dozens of them. In fact, there's one right under the walls of the castle - could it be that one?
