Hat for Keeping Cool
Q. Hopefully we are going to have a clear sunny hot summer shortly.
The problem for me is every cap/hat I have tried makes me feel like my brain is cooking.!!
Any advice on the best hat or cap to keep the sun off while also keeping cool?

A. Hi, in answer to Ronnie's question about which hat is best for hot weather, I bought a leather cowboy style hat at the Outdoor Show last year and wear it most of the time.
Having short hair it stops my head getting toasted and if you are into photography it is brilliant for keeping light out of the viewfinder.
Due to its shape, there's lots of air (not hair) around your head and the leather stops the sun getting through.
I do remember once though having to remove it to find out whether it was raining as the rim keeps the rain off too.
Lastly, If you don't need it you can fold it and pack it away.
