GPS Waymark Data
Q. Now that I am a proud owner (I think) of a Garmin Etrex GPS, where can I find walks that include GPS co-ordinates?
Peter Cassidy, Southampton
A. We are busy adding GPS Waymark data and including it into each pdf file as well as providing downloadable GPS Waypoints in both GPX (.gpx) and Text (.txt) formats that you can upload into your GPS Device with an appropriate GPS Cable.
To find walks which already have Downloable GPS Waymark data see Walks with GPS Waypoints and GPS Data
Alternatively select the walk area you want to go walking in to from the Walks or the Walk Search page and look for the following icons in the results:
Walks with this icon have downloable GPS Waypoints in GPS Exchange (.gpx) format you can upload into your GPS Device with a connecting cable by simply placing the GPX file into the GPX Folder on your GPS. You can also use EasyGPS on IMB based PCs (Windows, Vista etc.), MacGPS Pro if are using an Apple Macintosh (Mac OS X 10.4.0 or later) or Garmin Basecamp which works on both PC's and Apple Macs.
Walks with this icon have downloable GPS Waypoints in text (.txt) format you can upload into your GPS Device with a connecting cable and GPS Utility and convert into a wide variety of formats (IBM based PC (Windows, Vista etc) only).
We are adding Downloable GPS Waypoints and GPS Waypoint data to our walks all the time (to our existing walks as well as all the new walks that warrant it) so keep a regular eye on the area of the country that interests you.

Hope this helps
