Buying Walking and Hiking Boots

You need to spend time in a good, reputable shop with a shop assistant who knows what they are talking about. Make sure you are wearing the appropriate socks, try on lots of different makes and test them out on a variety of terrains. Most good outdoor gear shops will have a test apparatus on which you can do this.

You did not say in which part of the country you live - so I cannot recommend a local retailer. Just try and find someone reputable - and don't just go for the cheapest. Poorly fitting boots can be a nightmare.

Getting boots that fit properly is very important and therefore unlikely to be something you could buy online with any degree of satisfaction.
